I had the absolute pleasure of capturing the engagement photos of Marie and Kris - a couple whose love story is equal parts heartwarming and hilarious (just the way they like it!).
These two met way back in 2012, their senior year of high school. Sparks flew, but life took them on different paths for a while. Fast forward to 2020, a chance reconnection through a mutual friend, and it was like no time had passed at all! Kris, ever the romantic (with a mischievous streak!), whisked Marie away on a surprise weekend getaway to Denver. Let's just say, Marie had an inkling a proposal was coming (thanks to a recent ring shopping trip!), but Kris still managed to completely sweep her off her feet.
The proposal itself took place at a breathtaking lake in Estes Park. Picture a picturesque dock, stunning mountain scenery, and Kris getting down on one knee - it was pure magic! Little did Marie know, Kris had enlisted the help of two photographer friends who were cleverly disguised as "bird-watchers" and captured the entire heartwarming moment.
Now, on to the engagement session itself! Marie and Kris are the kind of couple who radiate pure joy. Their banter is quick-witted and playful, and their laughter is infectious. We spent the afternoon exploring a beautiful outdoor location in Houston's Memorial Park, capturing a mix of classic, posed portraits (because sometimes, classic is just perfect!), candid moments of them walking hand-in-hand, and everything in between.
One thing that really struck me about Marie and Kris is how comfortable they are with each other. They don't shy away from playful jabs and silly faces, but there's also a deep well of love and respect that shines through in every glance.
